Year in Review

What a difference a year makes. Compared to the last several years, 2014 was a significant year for environmental progress in California. Cleaner air, healthier communities, reduced carbon pollution, less plastic waste, and the state’s first groundwater regulations are some of the highlights of a nail-biter of a legislative session. These critical victories mark steps towards a more equitable distribution of environmental benefits across California communities, and a commitment by a majority of our elected leaders to prioritize environmental and public health issues impacting our families and our future.  The success of bills that represent years and even decades of work to address sustainability, equity, and long term stewardship of our resources are the signature accomplishments of this year—one of the best for the state’s environment and for the health of all Californians in recent memory.
