AB 1478: Keeping state parks open

CLCV Supported
Signed by Gov. Brown

Last year, the state of California announced a list of no fewer than 70 state parks slated for closure: that's one out of every four parks. AB 1478 (Blumenfield) halts state park closures for two years and appropriates $20 million from recently identified funds in the Department of Parks and Recreation to the state park and recreation purposes they were intended. The bill specifically allocates matching funds on a dollar-for-dollar basis for parks with funding agreements with private organizations.
