SB 1455 would have helped reduce California's dependence on petroleum by increasing alternative fuel usage statewide. The bill would have extended the state's fees on smog inspections and sales of vehicle tires that fund alternative fuel and air quality programs. The bill would also have extended the program that provides grants to owners of highly polluting trucks and heavy equipment to help replace or retrofit those vehicles.
