How quickly we forget the tragic firestorms that have ravaged southern California and other areas across the state in recent years. To cut risks to life and property AB 666 (Jones) would have required counties to make certain findings, including that adequate fire protection services will be available and that the subdivision is designed consistent with state fire protections regulations, before approving new subdivisions in state-designated high fire hazard zones.
